The New BSFF Level One Training is currently the highest level of BSFF training available. It is the only official Be Set Free Fast (BSFF) Training Program taught by Dr Larry Nims, Ph.D. and Don Elium, MA MFT. Completion of this training gives participants a through and foundational understanding of Be Set Free Fast Theory and Application.

In February 2007 I chose to attend this inaugural Training Program along with 43 others. I had previously met and worked with Larry and Don back in 2002 and was  impressed then with how the technique worked. So I was very curious to see how it had since been refined. I came away thinking that this was something that everyone including children could use on a daily basis and get fantastic results! I feel proud to be one of the first participants to qualify as a BSFF Practitioner Level 1. If you want to visit the official BSFF site please click here: BSFF

Unlike traditional therapies, with BSFF (Be Set Free Fast), we work with an initial set of instructions to the subconscious mind which are then activated with the use of a chosen cue word. I do not need to spend hours on history taking, My focus is on defining the problem in the clients mind, then with that defined, describing any body sensations, emotions and thought patterns and or any images that tend to intrude in some way on the client's daily actions. These are the first clues as to how the mindbody is functioning. Working in this way allows us to gently clear outer layers and move in to the crux (Root Cause), without causing a potential abreaction. The BSFF technique I use, always allows the client to feel a sense of understanding and control, vital to expediate a cessation of the presenting problem.

Through recent cell biology, neuroscience and quantum physics research and findings, we now know that the human body 'dances like a puppet' to its immediate environment. By this I mean that our whole body (approx 70 trillion cells), reacts continuously to whatever is in its present field of perception. And it does this by comparing present with past.

It is important that we change our current understanding of life as new research shows that genes and DNA do not control our biology that in fact, they are simply reacting to signals from outside of the cells and this includes messages created through our negative and positive thoughts.

So whatever you are thinking, experiencing, perceiving right now, will cause your physical body to react in some way; anger, happiness, fear, sadness etc. Whatever the outcome, your cells will store that reactive combination for future reference. So, you can now see how a previously negative experience will cause your body to produce an automatic response when faced with a present day situation that, in some way, mimics that previous negative experience. Your thoughts control your body. You see, your brain functions by electromagnetic energy. Each thought becomes an electrical signal firing across your neurons. If a spectroscopic scan were done, say, when you are having a lively debate with friends, it might reveal pathways of light streaking across your brain in every direction.

But when you are experiencing thoughts and feelings that you’ve had many times before – thoughts and feelings that keep recurring in your life – those signals follow much more limited pathways…you could even call them “ruts"… in your brain.

Like a river that cuts a deeper channel with every passing year, those habitual thoughts just keep following the same pathways every time, creating ruts in how you perceive and interpret…ruts in how you think and feel…ruts in how you behave…ruts in how you interact with others.

Meanwhile, energy to the surrounding areas of your brain is blocked, and it gets harder and harder for you to think outside the view of reality that you’ve established. So you subconsciously look for – or create – situations in your life that match the inner reality that you know. Over, and over, and over again.  So what can you do to change your reality? The answer sounds so simple: change those habitual patterns of thought, get your brain’s energy moving outside of those ruts! And helping you to do so – in whatever way you need to do so – is my mission, and my passion

The people who approach me for help are those who have observed that they are unhappy about certain personal beliefs or behaviours. These are affecting their lives and those people around them.  If you hold certain beliefs about yourself and that of your world, then you unknowingly behave in a way that is congruent (aligned) with your deepest past experiences. For example: if you lack confidence in your ability to hold a conversation with people in authority you could either behave in a defensive way or in a retiring / retreating way that causes people to not notice you which in turn causes you to feel isolated or rejected. Then you dislike, (hate for some) the people for treating you that way (even though they have no idea that this is going on!) The more you experience this the more you re-enforce the belief that people will reject you. This fuels your lack of confidence.

Because BSFF works in conjunction with the Subconscious mind I require the client to be fully involved in the session. What we attempt to achieve during the process is to identify the problematic thoughts / beliefs that cause the presenting problem and clear them out.  During a session we do not attempt to rationalise the emotions involved, we simply work with them as they are.

Pre-treatment work: In order to fully utilise the actual treatment time, some clients like to get involved with defining the problem (in more depth) that they wish to eliminate.  This can be done with a series of questions (from me) and answers (from you). It can be very beneficial as apart from freeing up ‘talk time’ at the beginning of a session, it begins to help the client to gain some insight as to how  past experiences, which do not have full and satisfactory emotional closure, can create long-term effects that manifest in many different ways.

Armed with the answers we will spend the first few minutes testing the results through a series of muscle-tests, (see below) to see whether the answers are true to your deepest beliefs. We will also test to see whether at a subconscious level you are actually willing to be free of the problem/s. Many people consciously wish to be free but at a deeper level have reasons why they fear change (this is very common). If these fears are in place then they need to be cleared first as they actually interfere or block progress! Dr Larry Nims identified these as ‘Fail Safes’.

What is Muscle-Testing. Its proper term is Kinesiology (developed by George Goodheart MD.), but in this case, it is referred to as Behavioural Kinesiology, which was later developed by John Diamond, MD., as an integrated system for assessing and evaluating the effects of all stimuli, internal and external, on the body. Muscle-testing leads to an easy assessment of the degree of stress under which an individual is functioning and total assessment in both their physical and psychological aspects. From investigations and kinesiological testings, stress reduction and correction of emotional attitudes and a rebalancing and enhancing of the body energy can be achieved.

How does it Work. We normally use an extended arm (client), at shoulder level. The muscles in the arm are connected through the nervous system to all other muscles in the body. When you declare a belief (about yourself or how you feel about others, a situation etc.), in the form of a factual statement, if it is true at the subconscious level, then through the nervous system the muscles stay ‘strong’ when pressed. If the statement is not congruent (aligned) with the beliefs held in the Subconscious then when the arm is pressed the muscles go weak.

It is an excellent tool for assessing and identifying which thoughts are not only creating but sustaining the problem. Once these are recognised we then proceed with clearing these out. If the problem is chronic (never-ending, persistent etc), then it may require a number of sessions to reach deeply through many layers to attain true clearance. That said BSFF achieves results that cannot be compared with traditional therapies which are known to go on for many years.

The BSFF Procedure Explained. Having defined the problem the next stage is to begin working with the Subconscious where all the answers / experiences / reactions / emotions etc., are stored. A simply set of instructions are read to the Subconscious   which together with a chosen cue will then engage it to help us to clear out all thoughts, patterns, beliefs etc., that you no longer wish to keep. Before beginning the work we will test that the Subconscious is happy to do that.

Spectroscopy is the study of matter and its properties by investigating light, sound, or particles that are emitted, absorbed or scattered by the matter under investigation.

Spectroscopy may also be defined as the study of the interaction between light and matter. Historically, spectroscopy referred to a branch of science in which visible light was used for theoretical studies on the structure of matter and for qualitative and quantitative analyses. Recently, however, the definition has broadened as new techniques have been developed that utilize not only visible light, but many other forms of electromagnetic and non-electromagnetic radiation: microwaves, radio waves, x-rays, electrons, phonons (sound waves) and others. Impedance spectroscopy is a study of frequency response in alternating current.

Spectroscopy is often used in physical and analytical chemistry for the identification of substances through the spectrum emitted from them or absorbed in them. A device for recording a spectrum is a spectrometer. Spectroscopy can be classified according to the physical quantity which is measured or calculated or the measurement process.

Spectroscopy is also heavily used in astronomy and remote sensing. Most large telescopes have spectrographs, which are used either to measure the chemical composition and physical properties of astronomical objects or to measure their velocities from the Doppler shift of spectral lines.
